Pivixki
I just recently discovered this band and thought I'd share since the Avant Garde/Experimental forum seems so light on new threads lately. Pivixki (I'm still not sure how to pronounce that) are a drums and keyboard duo hailing from Melbourne Australia who have blown my mind with their amazing level of talent. Though occasionally other kinds of keyboard are employed, Anthony Pateras simply plays piano on most of the songs but, man, is he a unique pianist with a style that is at once classical-sounding and dissonant, jazzy and metal-ish. He's equally matched by drummer Max Kohane who plays with such a precise yet experimental style that one could just as easily imagine him collaborating with Harry Partch as with some heavily technical grindcore band.

Anyway, check them out:

This is pretty good... I really like how they're not bogged down by other instruments, and that it's just two guys playing two instruments. And damn can that piano player play.

Yeah, he's a pretty sick pianist. From what little I've been able to find out about the band he has quite the extensive resume too.
