Default Musical Theories - discussions about avant-garde music

Hi everyone!

I've been running a project with a very accomplished composer, Piers Hellawell, talking about modern composition. We've so far produced a handful of videos discussing a few aspects of modern composition.

I'm not seeking to promote the channel, but instead was interested in what topics you think would be of interest for discussion? I'm hoping to have both lecture-style videos, as well as more engaged discussions perhaps with multiple speakers.

I like new types of music composition and they would gain my attention...

With either sound mapped to a symbol or object such that it would be in a given frame to frame time definitions or possibly a new style and type of sound choreography with actual value and temperament to the audio representations.

You could always re-open the "who actually is the composer of an algorithmic composition" can of worms, if you were looking for a debate-inspiring read...

Urm, I guess necessity of listenability when it conflicts with message? I think I ignore it a bit too much and I think I need less pop-ey sources on the subject. David Byrne talking about "controlling the composition" right before the talking heads got bland keeps creeping into my head.
