Oh and as ****ty as so much of their singles are this is a little hidden gem that kinda knocks. I even remember it being my fav from back in high school when I actually liked the band. It has just a little bit more musically going for it and Fred Durst is giving just a little bit more creativity into lyrics and performance, and while it's still pretty trash it's my kind of trash and that little bit more effort goes a long way to making them actually entertaining and not just tedious.

Okay this really slaps actually. Now I'm excited about this journey.

Don't get too excited these supposed slaps still suck.

Although as much as this is terrible I'm fascinated by how it's not really a song with any structure I can figure out, like I don't know what the song sounds like even while listening to it, but I feel it has value as being the most obnoxious rock radio hit of all time and having no redeeming value. It's like the band just agreed that so long as they backed Fred Durst being Fred Durst it didn't matter what they played cause it would go platinum. Like, that's somehow an artistic triumph I can appreciate.

That's a rather daunting OP, Tristan: a list of sub-genres that I've never heard of, and now, 50 posts on, I'm still waiting for someone to mention SPK. Aren't they right there in the mainstream of industrial ? Or perhaps they're too old and obvious:-

Love me some SPK. Maybe a little obvious but definitely not too mainstream.

The Batlord 10-29-2019 08:21 PM

Consider this an EBM rec.

I added Xanopticon to the list I'll get around to it soon

Nekrokick - Burial

This thing rips. Total obliteration and all but I fail to see the doom in it, but regardless it's fairly good Hardcore Techno/EBM. Quick listen as well, always helps me like a release.
