What Weird Sh*t Are You Listening To Right Now?

MassivePeaness · 04-13-2024, 08:08 PM

Not listening to anything weird. Listening to adventurous stuff, right now MEV Friday. I've never heard anything weird. If it were weird there wouldn't be so much of it.

"909 County Fair" on soundcloud dotcom;

in particular, "Developing" and "Anticipated"

The followng is from the solo album titled Twin Smooth Snouts by "Mr. Hageman", aka Brian Hageman of the band Thinking Fellers Union Local 282. It's one of the more "accessible" tunes on the album, with accessible being a relative term:

Piero Umiliani - Mah Na Mah Na

From the movie Sweden Heaven And Hell. This was released as a single (I stlll have the 45 somewhere) and was a minor chart hit in the US.

Jefferson Airplane - Thunk

This mostly acapella tune written by drummer Joey Covington is weird indeed.

Butthole Surfers - Kuntz

Currently? Obscure cassette tapes of experimental music my dad used to record from our Montreal station at 4am (usually with the intent of listening to on acid/salvia at a later date)

audio.com/acousmaspooks/audio/ckutkassette02-a <--- Site is managed by the same folks who make Audacity btw

Side A:
1. ??? <--- Weird musique concrète album with sound effect CDs

2. Insurgent Inc. - Mnemosis

3. Dancing on the Walls of Jericho - Paul Dolden
3a. ??? <--- Wizard of Oz played off some record

5. Carnis Vale - Non

6. Negativ Nein - Einstürzende Neubauten

7. Grand Bruit - Christian Zanési

Also kind of a shill for this station at the moment since there hasn't really been any campus station (to my knowledge) that was filling in for DJs with obscure experimental music without any attribution. Kinda groundbreaking if you ask me. Tons of great stuff on this tape though, I still can't believe a radio station would play this stuff.
