Ads for this classical guitarist's April gig in my town keep popping up in my social media feeds. OK, algorithms, I might just go.

Sometimes those algorithms actually get it right. I gave her performance a listen. She has a really expressive style with excellent control and a beautiful tone. Live classical guitar can be a different experience compared to recordings, with so much nuance and dynamics coming through in the room. If she is performing nearby I would say it is worth checking out. You might end up discovering a favorite artist and it is always great to support talented musicians when they tour locally.

I wasn't able to go because non-weekend gigs are hard for me to attend. But there's no denying her talent. And although I don't usually put a lot of stock in showmanship (showwomanship?), the fact she moves around and really gets into it are a refreshing change from the stereotype of the clsssical musician who just stands or sits there and stoically plays.
