Default looking for some music

looking for some music that sounds smiler to: string quartet tribute to dream theater or like steve vai's Sound Theories, i know it may not be considered classical by some but i have started to like the classical sound and thees are the only examples i can reference.

I'd check out the string quartets of both Bartok and Shostakovitch. Those 19th century eastern European composers tend to be quite dark and agressive.
