Good for you!
...and Argerich is a great performer of Ravel too.
I've got a 48 disc set of her work for Deutsche Grammophon.

Perotin
Album by Hilliard Ensemble

This is the best recording of some of the most important and most beautiful music ever written.

Just heard an extraordinary piece of music by Karl Jenkins - Benedictus from The Armed Man (A Mass). Choral music in the style of John Rutter.

I'd like some recs of the more alien pieces by modern classical composers.

OccultHawk 08-23-2020 06:40 PM

What do you mean by “alien”

The Batlord 08-23-2020 06:49 PM

Use your judgement. Alien. Weird. Confrontational. Whatever. I'm not so much looking for stuff that's a certain thing as I'm trying to familiarize myself more with modern classical and the weirder sounding stuff is the stuff that gets me the most interested as an entry point and I don't have enough familiarity to really pinpoint exactly what I'm talking about.

Brian Ferneyhough

I already have the feeling whatever I suggest you’ll be like nah. Then Frown will suggest something and you’ll be like yeah

The Batlord 08-23-2020 08:04 PM

No that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking to explore. I'm too much of a basic bitch to have much of an opinion on it after one listen but I'm definitely interested.
