I'm looking for orchestral music that sounds really big and powerful, something with a mood along the lines of the "heavier" moments in Vivaldi's "Four Seasons".

Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. The beginning sounds promising and seems to be pretty much what I was looking for. |

Also try out György Ligeti's String Quartets.

Although some more modern minimal music would be nice as well. I've been listening to a lot of Michael Nyman lately, his music also sometimes has the heaviness I'm looking for. |

midi piano 7 "eternal pleasure"
If you google "midi piano 7 eternal pleasure" you will find my best classical song online at youtube and you can then play it. It is a very happy song and flows nicely. I am the artist that made this song.

Love that Carmen Overture. Here's another I love a lot as well.

Ludovico Einaudi - Primavera

Ludovico Einaudi - Nightbook

Can someone point me towards some good Bartok recordings (or compositions, if you'd like to be more general)? I've seen a few of his pieces performed live and really enjoyed them, but a recent video posted by chesya here really resparked my interest in him.

Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5
|
Don't let the name confuse you. It is a classical track, albeit by a trance artist, and very beautiful it is too.
Hallucinogen - e |
^ That's really cool, Mr. Charlie.

Ludovico Einaudi - Nuvole Bianche

Love this piece. So stirring:
Philip Glass - Pruit Igoe |
Yuzo Koshiro (Actraiser Symphonic Suite) - Filmore
|
Who doesn't know this number:
Carl Orff - O Fortuna - Carmina Burana |
Taylor Davis - Apotheosis/I Was Born For This
|
London Philharmonic Orchestra - Stairway to Heaven (Symphonic Led Zeppelin)
|
I'm not sure where to put this, but this album is amazing. |
Probably doesn't fall under classical, but...
Brian Eno - An Ending (Ascent) |
Feel free to move this somewhere more suitable. I dunno where it goes.
Beth Gibbons - Show |
Dmitri Hvoroalkfakldhafdk (Can't spell his last name) is beast

I want something ambient, fast and dreadfully dark.

How about this? Starts out slow, gets a lot faster around the middle. Also dark as ****. |

need some help :)
Hey people
Yesterday i heard an awsome melody by an unknown autor. I just know that his name is Gren or Glen and a surname strats with B. (Something like Blanco/Bianco). He wrote different generes(jazz, blues..). I think he was italian or he still is.. I'm waiting for the answer and dying to find out who he is |

I Don't know a lot of his stuff, but what I have heard is pretty dramatic. Some of the symphonies have a heavy rock sound based on repeated riffs, and he also uses natural temperament in interesting ways. Think I had better listen to some more in fact !! Plent to hear on Spotty IIRC, And some on youtube. |
La Palette
This is a study of colour and light. It is conducted by Roger Redgate and the Ensemble Expose.

Here's a nice piece of music from 500 years ago. The most remarkable thing about it is that it has recently been transcribed from a painting by Hieronymus Bosch:-

¿New classical composers?
¿There's some actually classical composer?. I mean, a composer that makes things like Mozart piano sonatas 310 & 533. Thank you.
