Default Music from the 1500s - How to read?

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to read some music I found on IMSLP from 1577. I was wondering if anyone knew how to read this. I am not singing, I am playing this on Violin, and yes, I know it isn't meant for violin. If anyone knows how to read this, please help! The music is from Jacobus Regnart's "Aliquot Cantiones".
