You're listening to Melt Banana... they're so hard that by the conversation of hardness in the universe you wouldn't have any hardness left for your cock!
MELT BANANA MELT YOUR FACE OFF |
I bought Teeny Shiny years and years ago after hearing alot about them. I got headaches so I stopped listening to it, but every now and then I'll find myself remembering tracks like 'Free the Bee'. Brilliant, really

Saw them the other night at ULU, stunning. Ive never seen such an amount of energy explode in such small spasms. They were also incredibly tight, the the guitarist's technical efficiency was wowzers. They lacked a bit of charisma but definetly go and see them if you get the chance, its a life affirming experience.
(PS, DJ Scotch Egg rules you all) |

Cell-Scape is probably one of the best albums of the 00's. It was a whole new heavy to me. There you have these crushing riffs and static from the guitarist and yet it all remains so innocent. Probably because the singer yelps like a small puppy. I can't think of many more noise bands who are as stupidly loud yet have that same amount of warmth to their music.
They are the definition of demented genius. |
I remember listening to a track from one of cardboards comps, so just got hold of Cell Scape. Thoughts later :)

Thoughts now as I listened to this today on my MP3. Fucking A. So impressed with this. The juxtaposition really works. As PMO says the the almost childlike whelps of the lead singer against fast guitar riffs with electronic filters dotted around the soundscape. Phenomenal stuff. If you all wanted to get into some Noise Rock, I could'nt think of a better start. I'm buying this baby tomorrow, if the local indie has it.

For me at least it's the most accessible noise rock i've come across along with Big Black and maybe some other bands that aren't coming to mind right now.
Not the early stuff though, haha! |
