Not as good as F*ck on the Beach, but yea, I really do like Melt Banana.

NO WAAY!

Japs:

Afrirampo and the boredoms too

O then Merzbow, then Masonna

Oh and also check out this japanese Johavah Witness guy, hes amazing!
Maher Shalal Hash Baz

goto (they wont let me post url links yet)
experimentaletc.blogspot.com/search/label/Maher%20Shalal%20Hash%20Baz]exp etc

that is a great blog too!

about him (from lastFM) "Maher Shalal Hash Baz is the artistic alter ego of Tori Kudo (工藤冬里), a Japanese naivist composer and musician. The name is taken from Maher-shalal-hash-baz in the Book of Isaiah, and translates roughly as “Hurrying to the spoil, he has made haste to the plunder.”

Tori Kudo has been cagey about details of his life before MSHB. He was once a member of a shadowy, revolutionary political party in Japan, although he has dissociated himself from politics since becoming a Jehovah’s Witness. He also works as a ceramicist."

I keep coming back to Melt-Banana every few months, such a fun group. I really love "Scratch or Stitch" and "Charlie", both immensely powerful and fun, but other than that I have no real words at the moment to describe their sound. Well, I guess I could effectively describe them as sounding like what would happen if a little scotty dog got a hold of PCP and a laser pistol, and hardcore punk rockers battling the ferocious beast with crash symbols and super fast power chords.

I found a really old live video on youtube that's really worth watching, it amazes me how every note is played surgically and precisely, almost as if I'm listening to a studio version. Also, Yasuko is looking pretty hot too, god bless her.

Melt-Banana is some good folk.

But for realz, face shredding, bowel numbing, mind melting grindpop at it's best. I played a MB song for my friend, and he asked me if they actually know how to play their instruments. Pshawwww, Agata is one of the most innovative and gnarliest guitarists out there, and Dave Witte shreds the drums. Even though he's only a session musician. Cell-Scape is one of my all time favorites.

He sounds like an insecure elitist idiot to me. Let me guess, hardcore metalhead, or die hard blues fan?
