I'm sure I'll like whatever it is... I gotta remember to catch him live this time around, it's been a few years and last time was in a lame-sounding venue

"Boots of spanish leather" - I melt everytime i hear that song. I cant express how much i love that song... and Bob Dylan (Too bad his live performances sound like his tongue has withered away)

Alrite, I have really gotten into Bob Dylan in past 6 months or so, I have most of his albums now (25 courtesy of windows media player) and he really is a great artist. My favourite album is probably 'Desire', also love 'Blood On The Tracks', 'MTV Unplugged', I also like his obscure 80s records 'Empire Burelesque' & 'Knocked Out Loaded'. 'Modern Times' was nothing short of brilliant too and I've heard he has a new album out at the end of this month.
The first one ever bought actualy was 'Under The Red Sky' (1990) (I usually go for the obscure albums when I go to buy an artists album for the first time)and I loved it, dont really listen much to it now though.. |
Empire Burlesque is terrific, partly for the songwriting and partly for Sly & Robbie when they pop up (they're on Infidels too) and Knocked Out Loaded has its moments for sure tho I don't tend to listen all through. I'll get back to that one eventually I magine

What a poet Bob Dylan is. I love how uncomplicated his style is, though I get the feeling he is a very complicated man. Bob needs no one, really. He sings, plays guitar, plays harmonica, writes his own music. You just don't see that very much anymore. Everyone is so damn edited any more with these studio tweaks. He needs none of that and I greatly admire that about him. He has made some real masterpieces in his time.

Yes Bob Dylan could have been a great poet had he chose that direction. I'm glad he chose music. Of his new stuff I like Love and theft, it also won a grammy. Blood on the tracks, what a classic. When "the Band" was his backup band how could he go wrong.

Alright I recentley managed to download one track off his upcoming album 'Together Through Life'. The Track was the first off the album i think and its called 'Beyond Here Lies Nothin'. It has a slight brass section behind it and his voice sounds raspier than ever!. I cant really place it or compare it to anything. Its probably most best compared to a continuation of 'Modern Times' but with a classier sound. I have real high hopes for this album after somewhat of a let down from Neil Young.

Bob Dylan And Willie Nelson Team Up For US Ballpark Tour | News @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com
Even though I dont care for Willie Nelson, I'll see them, just being in the same place as Bob Dylan would be an honor. Cant wait for the new album, 2 days. |
Been listening to Blonde on Blonde a lot lately. Really is a great album, and IMO much better than Highway 61 which often gets credited as his best.
