**** Bono.

My Bloody Valentine pretty much stomp everything else from Ireland. Stiff Little Fingers are also worth a mention.

You should also check out Altan and Andy Irvine if you want traditional Irish tunes. I also really enjoy Planxty and the Dubliners.Gaelic Storm isn't Irish but they're a nice Celtic band as well.

My favourite Irish folk groups;

Planxty
Dubliners
Irish rovers
the chieftains
Bothy band
Pogues (though if you want to get technical they weren't exactly all Irish natives)

Solas? Seriously? wow, you haven't heard a lot of irish music...

by the way, by Irish music, I don't mean solely traditional Irish music, I mean any band artist that has come out of Ireland: Thin Lizzie, Van Morrison, U2 (just an example urban), Stoat, Simple Kid.... the list goes on. I made one in this thread a while back.

For actual Irish music, I enjoy the Clancy Brothers, the Wolfe Tones, and Dervish. (Probably Dervish the most out of those three because I enjoy more traditional folk music.)
