If you are looking for a good Irish Band try The Young Dubliners. They are great. They do alot of Irish Folk Music as well as some fantastic Irish Rock.

About 4 people in ireland have ever heard of the Flogging Mollys or whatever theyre called.

The best irish acts at the moment depending on what type of music you like are:

Messiah J and the Expert
The Infomatics
The Spikes
Semaphore(based in england)
The Coronas(Pop rock type stuff)

I've compiled a list of Irish bands in my collection, it definitely isn't all-encompassing but check it out just in case.

There and Irish American punk band
So I don’t know if it really counts because they were formed in LA
But they are wicked and know how to put on a good show.

The Frames are a superb Irish band. Their "For The Birds" album is excellent.

Some of you may recognise the lead singer, Glen Hansard, from the film Once. He also released an album with the film's co-star, Marketa Irglova, called The Swell Season.
