By about 3 minutes into the first song I wanted to hurl the CD at the wall her voice was so grating. Then I realised I didn`t own the CD because I downloaded it so I used the cat instead.

I like Ys, but I can never listen to the whole thing through. I have to take each song individually to really enjoy it. "Cosmia" is one of my favorite songs from this year. I just got Milk-Eyed Mender, and it's much more possible to listen to as whole album. I also found some live recordings of her with Devendra Banhart, but the quality isn't very good. What's weird is that I disliked her when I first heard her, but I knew that I would grow into her. Once I knew when her voice was going to do all of it's jumping around, it lost its "grating" quality and became soothing. An odd phenomenon, I don't know if anyone else knows what I mean. |

^ About the same story. Though I can imagine that there are people (besides animal lovers) that would leave the cat alone, and would be able to enjoy the album...
