I'm surpirsed no one has mentioned the old Loony Toons episodes where they adapted classical music; the adaptation of "Ride of the Valkyries" (KILL THE WABBIT! KILL THE WABBIT!) sticks with me to this day. Their Peter & The Wolf is good, as well, but that's a song that's sort of impossible to muck up.

That's true, hip hop: I do invariably associate certain classical songs with cartoons.

Thanks for mentioning Looney Toons music and Peter & The Wolf, too.

I had a Peter & The Wolf record I liked to play when I was a child, leafing through the illustrated story page pictures that came as part of the jacket. I always felt sad for the duck when the wolf swallowed her down!

The song I'll share below isn't really intended for children, but I remember loving it when I was a child and still do. My mom was learning to play guitar and sometimes played at folksy social gatherings with sing-alongs I enjoyed. She was in this cool '70s fashion phase during which she wore wide collars, colorful pantsuits, and short dresses with wild prints. I liked those years.

with a German intro! I especially like the strength and gusto of the piano entrance.

I can't believe I haven't posted more Sesame Street songs!

My favorite Sesame Street song is "The Rainbow Connection." I loved this song when I was a child and would happily sing or hum it for myself at random, quiet times during the day.
