Folsom Prison Blues is my fave, but also Big River. And his version of Sunday Morning Comming Down is easilly the best.
I also liked the Johnny Cash Remixed album. I don't usually go for that sort of thing, and I would always prefer the unmolested Cash original, but I found some of the remixes give an original & refreshing take on some of these classic tracks |
i dont understand how can anyone say one JC song stands above a hundred others??? he's written and/or sung so many great songs...picking one solitary track is like picking out one Beatles track or a single Elvis track...impossible

For me, it's Hurt.
|
I've been listening to the American series like a crazy person lately, so this is my favourite at the minute;
And I actually know a fella called Sam Hall as well. |
Yep, Sam Hall is a kicking track. One of my faves off the American recordings series
|
Johnny first recorded this song on Ballads of the True West back in the mid-sixties.

Walk the line & Hurt
|
So many to choose from, but honestly it has to be
Legend of John Henry's Hammer. I like the build up and the story. Of course every Johnny Cash song has an awesome story. |
Near enough an impossible task, but my favourites (at the moment) are Walk the line and Folsom Prison blues. To be honest there aren't many JC songs I don't like.
