Default John Foster (The American Idol Runner Up)

John's Opry debut was last weekend, and another performance has been scheduled for him on Wednesday, July 9th at 8 PM EST. Be there or listen to him live at the WSM website like I did last weekend. I pray that he sings his angel song this time. What better place to keep Maggie's memory alive and well compared to such a historical stage?

God bless you and him always!!!

Was his Opry debut at the Ryman or the Grand Ole Opry House?

And not trying to hijack the thread but have you ever been to the Opry? I went back in 2013 at the Grand Ole Opry House. I’d like to see the Opry, or a regular concert, at the Ryman someday.

^^^ John was at the Grand Ole Opry House. Have I been there? Yes, but it was back in the early 90s and so I do not remember much, but I was there. I was around ten years old then. Right now, I do not remember who was there the day that I was. I'll have to ask my mom who was there with me.

God bless you and my mom and John always!!!

^^^ I just asked my mom, and she remembers Connie Smith, Ricky Skaggs, and the late and legendary Porter Wagoner being there.

God bless you and my mom and Connie and Ricky always!!!

Holly

P.S. My mom also says that the Ryman building might be where we were. When did the Opry move to the current location?

The Grand Ole Opry House, IIRC, opened in 1974. But some of the Opry shows still take place at the Ryman. The newer place is next to a shopping mall (or at least it still was in 2013 when I was there) and is in a more "suburban" location than the Ryman, although I think it's still in the Nashville city limits.

Speaking of Porter Wagoner, here's a song of his that should have been bigger. It has the same title as a song by Fats Domino but is a different song.

^^^ Thanks for the history.

Right here is a great new clip of John. I left what I hope is a good message in return underneath it at the You Tube website. What I love about this clip is getting to know more about John and the more that I get to know about him, the more complaints that I do not have where he is concerned.

P.S. My only complaint would be about his age. He is going to be 19 on July 9th which is right about my birthday. I turn 43 on June 30th. In other words, my only question for the Lord is why did 24 years have to be in between John's age and mine?

Happy 19th birthday to this year's American Idol runner up, John Foster. Right here I believe is the first song that he ever wrote, and he was barely 16 then.

P.S. He is playing the Opry again tonight at 8 PM EST and you can listen to him here.
