Another song by Şebnem Ferah.

CURTAINS - PERDELER

There are full up and truelife pages (by my side)
There are one after the other and unread books (by my side)
My yesterday and my tomorrow are always here. They are always in my tiny island.
I'm thirsty and tired but I'm thinking of surviving.

There are tired and aged people
There are woken people with hope and love
All the ways of world are in my messy room
I fell down many times and got hurt but I continued to living.

There are huge burden in my back.
They pulled me and made me wait.
I rested and i drunk water. The water leaked my lips.
The sun rises everyday. But curtains should be open.

There are continually working clocks
There are voices with coming slowly from depth
I thought that i discovered the realities of centuries.
I put them on but they were too big for me.

There are continually speaking lips
There are offended and silent minds
We hit the bottom but so what! Surely we'll rise again.
We exists one day and don't some other day. So lives are for rent.

There are huge burden in my back.
They pulled me and made me wait.
I rested and i drunk water. The water leaked my lips.
The sun rise everyday, But curtains should be open.

İlkay Akkaya performs Turkish protest music. This song is one of the my favorite songs. It's touching.

Yüreğim Yollarda - My heart is on roads.

One of the my favorite singers, Ceylan Ertem.

İnsandık - We were human. The video clip is very interesting. And song is very meaningful.

We fell off from palms
We were uprooted from pure roots
We were erased from times (in other words we are no longer nonexistence)

Ne Olursan Ol Gelme

CANDAN ERÇETİN - ELBETTE (NATURALLY)

If the sun go down every night and it rises every day,
If flowers are wither and wither and they're blossoming again
If the deepest wounds are recovering
If the biggest sorrows are forgetting
So why shall I afraid?
So why shall I remain unchanged?

Naturally sometimes I'll blossom, sometimes I'll wither
Naturally I'll land on a branch from another, then I'll fly
Naturally sometimes I'll rapidly turn and I'll stop
Naturally sometimes I'll talk (or sing) and sometimes I'll be quiet

I have never believed,
I can't believe that everything has an end.

Naturally if i'm crying today, i'm smiling tomorrow
Naturally firstly i'll go away, then i'll return

IF YOU LIVE IN FEAR - ŞEBNEM FERAH

I lived such a life that
I saw both the heaven and the hell
I lived such a love that
I experienced both passion and give up

While some people was watching life from front
I found a stage for myself and i played
They gave me such a role that
I read and read but i couldn't understand it.

Sometimes I talked to myself in my home
I was angry and i laughed to state i'm in
And then I said:

"Promise yourself:

If you love the seas you must love waves too
If you want to be loved firstly you must learn to love too
If you want to fly you must learn to fell too
If you live in fear you just watch the live

I lived such a life that
I knew final journey early.
Time was precious so much
I understand, thus I always had hurried."

Çığlık Çığlığa (shouting and screaming) it's a love song. She fell in love someone. And everything changed in her life. Birsen Tezer is a jazz, pop singer. This song originally belongs to Bülent Ortaçgil.

Bülent Ortaçgil,
Quote:
He started playing guitar while at Kadıköy Maarif Koleji. Another popular composer and singer Mazhar Alanson (from the band MFÖ) was at the same school although it is not clear whether they were friends. He played with some groups, including Damlalar (Drops). His music has been influenced by various artists, including The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Donovan and Bob Dylan. His first long play was called “Anlamsız” (Meaningless), which he published while in college.

In 1974, his first album was released under the title “Benimle Oynar Mısın?” (Will You Play with Me?), considered to be a classic. Onno Tunç and Ergun Pekcan were among those who helped the recording and mastering of his albums.
Would You Play With Me?
If i was water or fire,
If i was the sun in the skies,
If i wouldn't tell and if i was a stone ,
Even so would you play with me?

If i was a silent or if i were a defect,
If i was a swearword in the mouth,
If i was a captive since my birth,
Even so would you play with me?

If i wasn't counted, if i was a unknown number,
If i was the power in the land
If i was a crime like a stupid
Even so would you play with me?

Would you play with me?

Gecenin Tam Üçünde

Haberin Var mı? (Do you know? - Your love didn't leave me. I was starved, I was without water night after night. But your love didn't leave me...) from a Turkish poem.

I'll introduce you to Mazhar Fuat Özkan (MFÖ).
Quote:
MFÖ is a Turkish pop and rock band consisting of Mazhar Alanson, Fuat Güner and Özkan Uğur. Mahzar Alanson and Fuat Güner met in 1966 and joined Özkan Uğur in 1971, so MFÖ, as a music group, have been working together for 44 years.
This band may be like American country singers. Nostalgia! Please, listen them

Mazeretim Var Asabiyim Ben (I'm irritable because there is a reason of it)

Ele Güne Karşı

Sakın Gelme

This thread has lapsed a bit since 2012, when Simpleman posted his OP with its ambitious title. Shout out to him, misspoptart and Satre, stalwarts from the glory days of the World Music section. Where are you now that I have today's song for us ?

The Istanbul Oriental Ensemble play a lot of slithery gipsy music and are headed up by multi-instrumentalist Burhan Ocal:-

And what happens if you search for Burhan Ocal on MB? Just one post turns up, from a guy called chillosoph, who had a cool username, joined MB in 2007 but only ever made this one promo post and left:-

Quote:
"Doublemoon Remixed" now in iTunes, 16th July im stores

Doublemoon Records carries the sound of Istanbul into the digital age with Doublemoon Remixed. World renowned electronic music masterminds, and pioneering young Turkish DJs are invited to interpret Doublemoon classics from the comfort of their studios in places as close as Taksim or as distant as New York. The outcome is a virtual bridge of sounds linking far-flung corners of the earth together from one track to the next.

Track List:
1. Özgür Şakar a.k.a. Misda Oz vs Mercan Dede - Ab-ı Beka
2. DJ Click vs Burhan Öçal & The Trakya All Stars featuring Smadj - Melike
3. Forty Thieves Orkestar vs Burhan Öçal - Boğaziçi

7. Danilo Venturi & Lorenzo Montanà vs Smadj - Swing Alla Turca

10. DJ Rupture and DJ N-Ron vs Burhan Öçal & The Trakya All Stars featuring Smadj - Çiftetelli
11. Umut Gökçen vs Baba Zula - Cecom
12. Style-ist vs Replikas - Zift
13. Transglobal Underground vs Mercan Dede - Ab-ı Hayat
14. Spark (Adam Chalk & DJ Shazam) vs Selim Sesler - Kara Üzüm Habbesi
15. Cay Taylan vs Orient Expressions - Dera Sor
^ Chillosoph's thread is now in MB's dead archive section, from which, it seems, the conventional reply function has been disabled. That means this one-post thread by a one-post member can't be bumped; I had to copy and paste it. So I proudly bring to you something from the obscurest dark-dungeon corner of MB that I have ever visited - and out of curiosity will try to post some of the guy's recs later.

Doublemoon Remixed is an album that sounds great to me so far, but there are some link probs, though. You can find it here if you're interested:
