Default ryan adams - jacksonville city nights

i absolutely loved cold roses ( in my humble opinion , one of the best albums of 2005 ) and this one is not far off, i'm not really sure why everyone is classifying it as a pure country album ( as opposed to cold roses which is supposed to be alt. country ) , to me, they sound very similar, slow and faster songs are interchanging just like on cold roses, no great changes in the sound, ok, it's slightly more classic country but still, i think the second disc of cold roses is pretty country too, again, he's making some smooth, relaxing and beautiful melodies,it's fascinating how the man can make a song incredibly beautiful with just one sequence..i've only listened to it once so i can't recommend any songs yet....i'll get back to you on that one....anyways, anyone heard it?

EDIT:so far, don't fail me now,the hardest part and the end stick out....

again, if i was to listen to this music one day while driving through the south central part of the us in the summer, i think i would implode....( just one of my many fantasies that will never come true )

Um yeah, well if you meant Oklahoma, they you might explode because of where you were. The south on the surface has many a positive image, but the dark underbelly of social conservatism is a xeno/homophobic ugliness of antabellum southern elitism.

In south carolina I was told not to go into bars because I wan't born in the south. I tried to go in anyway but my friend wouldn't stop the car. I suppose if you didn't have to speak to people, some places in the south would be amazing.

Legend has it that San Antonio and Houston (Texas) are the only places that redeem Texas.

i had a feeling you were going to be the only person to respond to this thread, but this wasn't what i had in mind....and don't burst my bubble man, i wasn't exactly thinking of socializing with the same hillbillies that voted for bush, it's the Arkansas and Oklahoma open road scenery i was talking about....but i think Montana and Idaho take the prize as far that's concerted.....is it still country music territory? besides, you forget, i'm croatian, i could just throw in the east-european ( a.k.a. russian ) accent , they'd be non the wiser and all would be well...

I remember france, it's a beautiful country. Spain with the mountains that tumble and fall into each other, the green grass of portugal and the sand like land under your feet as you walk across the shores of a desolate beach somewhere near home and somewhere near your heart.. I still have the memorys of a world that I can always understand..Yet here it's lost in cold and winter..Wet and windy..Thank you Adidass for that memory. You have brought it back like it's in front of me. I never knew you were croatian. I hope we get to talk more. Maybe somewhere on this forum? Later maybe...

I have the album, and it hasn't grabbed me yet. I've had it in the car though, and sometimes records just don't work too well in there, but they do elsewhere. I'll give it another chance I'm sure, he usually delivers the goods.

it takes a while i guess, although i must admit it didn't have the instant appeal like cold roses, actually none of his other albums come close to cold roses ( maybe it's because that was the first album i heard by him ), but it definetly has some beautiful tunes.....
