So if a man thinks of raping someone it's OK, as long as he doesn't do it?

Uh, yes. What do you find wrong with that? As long as he doesn't act on it...

But if he DOES act on it then extra punishment.

Do you know about the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland?

that is such a horrible thing to say, I am protestant. I find that incredibly offensive.

EDIT: IRA almost killed my family

No I am against hate.

Yes think what you want, but if you lack enough self control to not spread the hate or to not act on it, extra punishment for you.

Of course most crime is based on emotions but I cannot stand people with no self control.

Bruise: The idea you have is great, and you have good intentions, but it is not practical. Differing punishment in every situation would never work. Some would get off easy, some would be unfairly punished.

people are let of the hook for murder more often then youd like to think
there the police, so what should be punishment for hurting/killing someone cause power got to your head?

I'm not saying that every crime should have a different punishment but I thought most did??

Anyway I just think a reason for a hate crime should DEFINITELY be taken into consideration during sentencing.

sweet nothing it's ok, how were you to know? although just so you do know, I prefer neither because my grandmother and aunt were in a bomb set off by UVF even though they were protestant.

load of numbers screen name, that is something different again, nothing to do with hate crimes.
