when I was in london a group of men started on me for being irish and pinned me down on the ground and poured stuff all over my head I think they should have been hung drawn and quartered.

But the thought in and of itself was incapable of doing harm to anyone. A thought can't in and of itself be detrimental to the well being of others and therefore a thought can't be punished in any quantifiable means.

Not to mention that if you punished someone for merely thinking something I'm sure you could make a case for all of us to be doing time.

Yes, he should be punished. For attempting genocide. Not for hating Jews. And the people who attacked you should go to jail for assault. Not for why they assaulted you.

Exactly, people are allowed to hate Jews, (i myself am Jewsh), blacks, Mexicans...anything they want. Its there god given right. But when they act upon that then they are punished for the crime committed not the motives behind it. It is only fair.
