Cohen going to jail doesn't mean Trump would go to jail (its basically Cohen's word versus his on whether or not he was "directed" to pay off those women), There were a few inconsistencies in his testimony I noticed too, but maybe it doesn't mean much in the end. We'll just have to see what Mueller has up his sleeve. That's where the magic will happen (if it happens at all).

It definitely could, but if you are wanting to know how it could or could not lead to impeachment, it helps to study a variety of perspectives. Cause these arguments will be made. This guy, for example, worked under Bill Clinton for awhile and has a good grasp on the subject.

I don't think it's that clear cut obv. I'd be surprised if nothing came out of it considering the severity of the cases. I'm no expert, but typically it's a bad thing when you're lawyer states under oath that there was involvement from the president in question even if he wasn't named.

The critical piece here is going to come down to whether or not personal money or actual campaign money was used for those transactions. If Cohen changes his story again then he'll just end up in even more trouble than he is already, especially after being put under oath.

Trump's chances at being re-elected in 2020 are looking slim to nothing as of right now in any case, and that's for the best.

Wasn't that a topic that was discussed tho? I'm genuinely curious because I've read that though he didn't name the president by name, it was still implied that it was the current president that gave him the hush money. But I could be off base.

This also covers a fair amount of ground, but the important piece here is that Cohen didn't start getting reimbursed by Trump for his "legal services" until 2017, long after the election had run its course. Money was actually spent in 2016 by Cohen for a variety of things, plus he was doing a lot of illegal actions (like the stuff with AT&T and others who wanted access to Trump) with his practice on the side that Trump was unaware of, which complicates the situation. If Cohen was seeking reimbursement from Trump, where did he get the money in the first place? They need to prove that Cohen had access to campaign funds or some other source other than his own personal money / assets.
