Megan Thee Stallion says she was shot in Los Angeles, expects to recover

Shot several times in the foot?

Also wtf I thought this bitch was a smokeshow 30-something but she's actually a kind of rough 25. Weird.

Someone is auctioning off more than 50 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs in B.C.

I don't think they had animatronic dinosaurs before Christ.

Pretty sure the current consensus among scientists is that all the animatronic dinosaurs drowned in the flood.

Incorrect. Noah saved at least two of them.

We really can’t sit and watch this happen, can we? Call your local hospitals and tell them not to comply. He can’t mandate to local hospitals. This is ****ing insane.
Yep, this is definitely the most worrying development to come out of the US yesterday, and I'm surprised that the mainstream media is allowing itself to get distracted with other stories.

The Trump admin having a stranglehold on the pandemic statistics going out to the public and the CDC will surely tip the US into a quagmire of untrustable pronouncements about the progress of the virus. If you thought that hearing about the ever-rising cases in Florida was bad, wait til your only source of information is a Trump-adjusted Sharpie graph showing that Florida actually has zero cases, that it was all a Fauci hoax.

I've seen lots of reports in the mainstream media about case numbers but not much about deaths. Am I looking in the wrong places?

Maybe you're looking at the wrong time, SoundgardenRocks: the media focuses on what is spiking today, and the spike in deaths will probably not arrive for another week or so.
It is depressingly predictable:
Reports about parties and bars: two weeks later, reports about surges in cases. In two weeks time, I'd expect reports about surges in deaths - unless by that time Trump is able to declare that there have been no deaths because "coronavirus cases are 99% harmless".

In fact that's probably why the Trump admin is moving now to censor the statistics about CV: they know that very soon the actual death count will be so high that the GOP will have problems pushing the lie that "America is in a good place."

773 people died of it yesterday, in the United States.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...ses-in-us.html

I called our local hospital concerned citizens PR line and told them I hope the refuse Trump’s mandate and the lady sounded like she thought I was crank. I could hear her southern pro-trumpiness over the phone.

Hospitals simply cannot comply with an order to sever ties with the CDC. It’s not just covid. Respect for the CDC’s earned authority protects us from all health dangers.

Also check your local media and government sites for statistics locally.

Thanks OH. For some reason, a tendency I've found is that when I click on many links related to cases, I'm not always presented with a broad view of the deaths (sometimes the deaths are very contextualized - given state, given country, etc. but I want to see how the numbers look on a timeline).

Likewise, the same goes for when I click on links about deaths.

CDC looks like a good place to get the stats I'm looking for. Unfortunately, my news viewing habits are very ingrained, I'll have to implement the CDC into my habits whenever I'm interested in Covid stats.
