I don't know much about the American justice system, but I know enough to know you should take that statement much more seriously than you're doing. How black people in America are treated by police and justice is grim. Something very different from what you (or I for that matter) are used to.
Also, repeating what others have said: not complying with police isn't sensible, but killing someone because they don't is in no way a deserved response, and it isn't self defense either. It's just outrageously cruel, whichever way you frame it
