Alec Baldwin kills woman by firing prop gun on film set of Rust

I really can't believe this news story. Apparently the American film industry needs help in solving this unsolvable problem of people getting killed by live rounds on set so I'm offering my advice for free:

Whenever you have to use a prop gun that may or may not be filled with live rounds, instead of simply using it and trusting that most probably it doesn't have live rounds, shoot it into something other than a human being to check first. Every single time.

There. Hundreds of lives saved.

You're welcome.

They usually do just that by firing at an intern, but the film crew walked off the set in protest before this happened.

What I'm saying is meant more for the final person using the gun because there is apparently a lot of incompetency going around in the chain of handling before that so it can never be trusted again. There should simply be a rule, strictly 100% followed, that if you are pointing and about to shoot a gun at a person, you shoot it somewhere else first. The end.

I don't even think they need prop guns on major budget sets anymore. CGI that sh*t.

Exactly! Wtf! Granted, this was apparently super low budget.

All right, admittedly I'm thick as ****e, but I don't get it with Batty's picture. Seems to be a guy maybe getting sick at the side of the road (bending over, looking down, something anyway) while a car flies by. What's so sick about that. Explain to the oldie please and use small words you can still find in the OED.

He's throwing up because he got a glance of what's on your hard drive TH

That's literally Alec Baldwin after he killed that guy.
