Boris Johnson is to resign on Thursday following a rebellion in his Conservative Party and is expected to address the nation in the coming hours.

God knows. It's not like the Conservative Party is a wellspring of the best and brightest now, is it? They would have been better to have called a general election. I wonder if all those who resigned will want their jobs back under the new boss, and if so, whether they'll get them? Was resigning more a symbolic action to express their lack of confidence in/support for Wurzel Gummidge, or once they're out have to to stay out?
