I just didn't realize you advocated for Bernie Bros getting the beatdown. I shoulda given you a friendly squeeze for that.

Antifa are anarchists and therefore hate the left.

MicShazam 08-21-2018 11:00 AM

I don't agree with that. They're mainly to be seen as a far left group.

Anteater 08-21-2018 11:00 AM

I thought they just wanted to reclaim anime memes from the new right.

I haven't advocated anything. Now put your dick away.

MicShazam 08-21-2018 11:03 AM

People hate Antifa. I don't really. Some things, I don't agree with, but I'm on board with their bash the fash goals.

Frownland 08-21-2018 11:04 AM

Political violence is inherently retarded, no matter how you market yourself.

Key 08-21-2018 11:05 AM

Republican? More like Republicant.

It's not generally a good idea. When they go literal and actually resort to violence, it doesn't fit into a still democratic model. The less literal version of "bash the fash", I mind less. Fascists aren't just a political interest group like any other. They must not be allowed to take hold. Their views have no merit. It's only out of a sense of decorum and in the name of the principles of a free and equal society that they should be given a long leash.

Just not too long... I wouldn't do what they do. But I'd be lying if I said I don't kind of think some of it is good on some level.

This is why I mentioned branding, since they're very rarely actually going after fascists in the US.

There's some very real political groups to oppose in Britain and Sweden, for example. I don't know in the US. The Alt Right are basically Nazi scum, but I don't think punching Richard Spencer accomplishes anything.

Like I mentioned around the time of that event, I think it actually mobilizes support for people like Spencer.

It most definitely does. It gives some valid arguments to the opposition, so it's just a stupid tactical move. Along with being ethically questionable.

If fascism continues to rise, then there will be a time where some principles should be discarded in favor of putting in all bets on stopping a fascist movement. We're not there yet, but an eye should be kept on the rise of these movements. Especially here in Europe, there's some worrying political trends.

Isn't this what won Trump the election? Just in different context?

@Kiiii

Now that you've explained what you're going for, I'm more confused.

Key 08-21-2018 11:48 AM

I just felt that there had to be some form of acceptance toward Trump's behavior specifically on the right side. Oherwise they would've slammed him down after his first racially insensitive or otherwise commentary. I'm not saying I know that definitively which is why I formed my initial point as a question.

I was relating that to how some could accept the violence as a form of political agenda. Even though it's bad.

So...did you not pay attention from the time that Trump started running to the time that he got elected?

Yes. His election based on hateed and whatever else.

MicShazam 08-21-2018 11:52 AM

I only visit some sections of the internet and don't meet Americans day to day since I don't live there, but I never see any right wing Americans criticize Trump no matter what he does.

My point was that he got quite a bit of flak from both sides before he was elected.

Unfortunately this is accurate. Partisan hacks ain't never gonna point the finger at someone on their side.

but not really the Republican voter base

Right. Which in and of itself is a form of acceptance toward his behavior. And yes frown, I do agree that there was a lot of flak but ultimately the acceptance of his behavior is what got him elected. The right side waited until afterwards to speak out. A bit too late tbh.

That's fair. Though simultaneously I don't think people were even expecting him to win so I suppose that could have something to do with it.

So if you criticize something for two years straight, that's considered acceptance? Should they have just shot him?

What? They were speaking out against him throughout the primaries and softened on him after he was elected, if anything.

Along with the same exasperation with the establishment that mobilized Bernie's base.

Not everybody was criticizing him. Hell a large percentage didn't criticize him.

The GOP gave him a lot of **** until he got elected. You're just believing what you want to now.

Would you trust the "liberal" pundits on Fox?

I guess I should've specified that I'm talking more about the voter base. Forgot that it could bw used as a vague term.

Sorry, when you implied that people had the power to stop Trump by slamming him, I assumed that you were referring to the people who actually have power.

Crappy site, funny snippet though. I used to do this all the time in Germany, but with hash. We had to go to Amsterdam to get the green stuff.

Like nobody ever did that at the disc golf course.
