N.C. man told police he went to D.C. pizzeria with assault rifle to

Quote:
The popular family restaurant, near Connecticut and Nebraska avenues NW in the Chevy Chase neighborhood, was swept up in the onslaught of fake news and conspiracy theories that were prevalent during the presidential campaign. The restaurant, its owner, staff and nearby businesses have been attacked on social media and received death threats.

While police initially said it did not appear the incident was related to the threats, businesses and residents immediately surmised it might be connected to “PizzaGate.”

James Alefantis, the owner of Comet Ping Pong, did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment Sunday.

The restaurant’s owner and employees were threatened on social media in the days before the election after fake news stories circulated claiming that then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her campaign chief were running a child sex ring from the restaurant’s backrooms. Even Michael Flynn, a retired general who President-elect Trump has tapped to advise him on national security, shared stories about another anti-Clinton conspiracy theory involving pedophilia. None of them were true. But the fake stories and threats persisted, some even aimed at children of Comet Ping Pong employees and patrons. The restaurant’s owner was forced to contact the FBI, local police, Facebook and other social-media platforms in an effort to remove the articles
Fake news is getting out of hand.

^ You took this long to realise that the news is essentially all fake?

So the Guardian posted this well thought out and intelligent article a week or so ago: https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...s-islamophobia

Since being published a satirist and troll, Godfrey Elfwick, has claimed to be responsible for it: Satirist Claims He Tricked Guardian Into Running Fake 'Alt-Right Confessional' | Heat Street

Of course he may not actually be the original writer, but it's hilarious how the Guardian can post an article so quintessentially Guardian that a satirist could claim to have written it.

I didn't even say that. I said specifically the fake news market and the racket they were running especially during the election cycle.

All news is not essentially fake.

Often, you will get called racist for saying that. Especially from multimillionaire celebrities who have no intention of doing anything to help, themselves.

Some publications were even pixelating those pictures.

I saw photos of buff, healthy young men getting off the rafts. Oh, those poor starving children!
