Being a Liberal is easy. Call out bad sh*t when you see it, and treat people the same regardless of any identifier.

^ Well, I have been since I saw your link, MLM ! I don't know how many innocent pedestrians are involved, but at least the attacker was stopped quickly, it seems.

It's so strange to see something like this unfolding at a street corner which is fairly familiar to me: often waited for a bus there after a day in town. :(

Well, that's because most religion is illiberal. Islam as written is authoritarian, regressive, and hierarchical. As practiced, much less so. I break ranks with many of my DC liberal friends in agreeing that Islam has more issues with classic liberalism than, say Christianity or Judaism, but from person to person, the differences are negligible.

I go through a similar thought process when walking past the homeless in the park on my way to work. I've actually stopped smoking on my walk home because I'm so tired of telling 20 people, 'no I do not have a cigarette for you. No I don't have $5 dollars. Or $1. I have no dollars (I legit don't carry cash these days). No I will not walk into 7/11 and buy you a soda. Leave me alone'
