CNN is reporting 50 dead and over 200 injured (though oddly my email only mentioned two dead in the link that led to the article that then upped that total seriously), and no motive ascribed yet. ****ing insane. This will really hurt the Las Vegas tourist industry, which must rely on that really heavily. Thoughts and prayers to the families of those dead or injured. Madness.

obvious questions: the guy's politics and religion?

was he ever in the military? his financial situation?

Funny isn't it: you can terrorise a crowd of people, kill many, wound many many others, kill yourself and STILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A TERRORIST! I mean, what was he, a pissed-off fan? :yikes:

(I know, I know: terrorism has to be religiously-motivated or state-sponsored, but come on!)

I think it might be wise to define these types of situations as such. We don't even know his motive yet, and "violent incident in Las Vegas" doesn't work as well.

If it's state sponsored isn't it simply military aggression?
