I'm still a little sketchy on JFK but am 100% behind the official stories on 9/11, BMB, and SH.

Being a mechanical engineer, I can fully understand and accept the official reason why the twin towers came down the way they did.

Seeing pictures of the guy who had his legs blown off, standing in the crowd prior to the blast is all you need to know about the BMB.

And all signs pointed to that SH shooter being a nutjob who was ready to blow a gasket. How do the conspiracy theorists account for the fact he shot his mother prior to driving to the school?

I've heard more outlandish things that happened to be true.

One theory is that Paddock was actually an undercover FBI agent who has been facilitating illegal gun sales to terrorists in the U.S. He was in the hotel room for a weapons sale, hence all of the weapons. The "buyers" were actually also agents who were there to perpetrate the false flag shooting, unbeknownst to Paddock. Multiple men in ball caps and loose fittting clothing [to conceal their identities] were caught on camera entering his hotel room. Plus. he had been ordering room service for multiple people. They suicided him, perpetrated the shooting and left him to be the fall guy.
God damn, why can't any ex-fundie religious types manage to live in a world without having to make it all special and mysterious?

Religious people and conspiratards often both have overactive pattern recognition which makes them see all those signs pointing towards those so-called truths.

I'm not disagreeing but why does their pattern recognition lead to false conclusions instead of obviously true ones like evolution?

When religious types try to refute evolution, it's a manifestation of cognitive dissonance. They base their beliefs and actions on religious texts and dogma. If they admit that one part is wrong, the whole shebang falls apart in their eyes.
