I know you’re being dumb, but the idiocy of your post is nonetheless maddening.

If he didn't already agree to visit those pesky latinos down in PR to visit them Tuesday since last week. I'm sure he would have been down there with the quickness.

When it comes to white people, he responds and goes to visit so quickly.

23 guns in his hotel room at Mandalay Bay and another 19 back at his home. That's 42 guns total. Most semi-automatic rifles that had been coverted to full automatic. The shooter's brother hinted that he was pretty well off financially. He also said that when he helped him move a few months back he only had a couple of handguns in a safe and maybe one long rifle but not of the assault variety.

So how the bloody hell did this guy purchase dozens of guns over a short period of time without sending up any warning signals?

Here in California the gun buying process is pretty stringent. I had to fill out a federal application for a background check, which included a notary verified thumb print. Then I purchased the gun and the serial number was inputted into the national database to align with my info and print.

Then there's a 5 day waiting period before you can actually obtain the gun - after you pass a written safety test as well as a "how to handle" test in front of the dealer who sold you the gun.

When all was said and done my generic plain jane Glock 19 ended up costing me about $500. And if I had wanted to purchase another gun I would have had to have waited 60 days.

You're assuming that his brother actually knew how many guns he had.

He helped him move. Maybe he hid most of them in his trunk. But considering he showed no major penchant for guns in his past (based on all accounts) I'll assume his brother knows him better than me or you.

Either way, still messed up that he had 42 freaking guns.

I'm a total guitar slut and went through a period where I had tons of disposable income about a dozen years ago - and the most guitars I've ever owned at any one time was no more than 10.

Batlork isn't asserting a higher authority than the shooter's brother, the brother just isn't the ultimate authority. The only true one would be the shooter himself.

Clearly his brother had the skinny. I'm sure the shooter must have just dropped 50 grand or whatever in a week rather than slowly stockpiling guns and hiding it from his family because he was planning on using them. Bet he didn't even have a storage unit.

good point.

Wonder if there was a gun show in Vegas in the days leading up to the shooting? They have them there all the time. He arrived there last Thurday which gave him a few days to stockpile.

Holy crap Batman!
