An exploratory committee is not necessarily politico-speak.
It means that you have shown real interest in the possibility
of being president. Now, it's time to find out how much of a
reality it may become. If enough of the money isn't flowing
your way (unfortunately) in order to make it worthwhile to run
or if, for instance, you find that the media bashing is not something
you could potentially put up with in the long run, then you don't
officially announce your run for President later.
