@Lilja, the story of the ban and 4 year prison sentence was originally posted by Swedish news source SVT. It is hush-hush, so it hasn't been picked up by the mainstream media. ZeroHedge and Sputnik shared it. They are both pretty big.

Ok. Now I get it (I had to watch the SVT clip). On Christmas Eve, Swedish news reported on the evening news about the killing (and no, they are still Danish and Norwegian) of these women. Then they brought up a law that was instituted last year called "olaga integritetsintrång"(essentially you cannot spread pictures/film showing people in situations where their integrity can be diminished for example revenge porn or as a victim of a horrible crime). Instead of focusing on the crime itself, they focused on the video of the crime and how spreading of it can be considered a breach of this law which carries a four year maximum sentence. The news should not have downplayed the crime but I think the spreading of the video was in focus because the same thing happened when people spread pictures of the truck victims after people were run over here on Drottninggatan by a crazy refugee who was denied residency.

But it was Christmas Eve, most watching were families, and the law is a relatively new one. Hence the focus was on the law.

I think it isn't about Islam or the integrity of the religon that they are talking about. It is for the protection of these girls integrities and their families. It was horrible what happened to them but it is also wrong to spread these films as there are a few who take joy in watching others cause pain. That is why this law was instituted. It is a good law I think.

The clip is on mainstream media. It just isn't the focus of American media at the moment.

So, your news is correct but it has been twisted.
