Well, McCain's VP is apparently the female governor of Alaska...anyone willing to bet that flocks of disillusioned Clinton supporters will now certainly vote Republican, the ticket's ultra-conservative leanings notwithstanding?

I'll bet that's exactly what republican strategists are banking on.

Nice to know how much they think of the intelligence of the American voter.

this is what I was thinking as well... it's pretty smart (unfortunately) and just might work.

I think it's a great choice, she's truly someone with experience we can count on.

They will. This sickens me. I can promise you there will be women out there that abandon their political leanings just to see someone with a vagina inside the oval office. My mother, for one.

Really, how much can the GOP disrespect the integrity of American intelligence?

the fact that she is some what attractive may work against her... lot of the Hilary fans may allow their jealousy to get the better of them.

This election has become a realty show... it's pathetic.

Well, the fact that the ploy will probably work testifies to the immense ignorance of the American public (and the GOP's willingness to exploit that ignorance).

That's the real tragedy here. This is beyond mere image. These so-called progressive women would rather have an ultraconservative female than a progressive male.

Ethan is funny, not stupid.

Sarah Palin has TWO years of notable political service after defeating the incumbent Alaskan governor in 2006. This is a ploy by McCain's campaign to attract female voters. The woman has absolutely no redeeming qualities and is so deeply ingrained in conservative dogma that I'm surprised the relatively moderate McCain would have endorsed her. She has no expertise in the political arena and remains only a token to buy the votes of politically depraved women.

I could understand people voting for Hilary. I might not like it, and I might not have wholeheartedly endorsed her, but I sure as hell would have still rather seen her in the oval office rather than McCain. But now...we have a way that the godless motherfuckers in the Republican party can gain control once again. And how do they do it? By appealing to the ignorance of America. The GOP has evolved into an utter pile of shite that isn't worth recognizing anymore.

I hereby renounce my faith in the two-party system.
