I'm UK, but I'm very glad of the result...if not because of the landmark, but just because it means Palin isn't VP. The womans a menace to all intelligent thought IMO.

Meh. I'm pretty much a political moderate. As far as social issues go (*** marriage, stem cell resarch, etc.), I'm definitely a liberal, but I honestly don't have enough economic knowledge or experience to have a valid opinion.

It isn't official because all votes have not been counted. If every remaining vote is for McCain, then he will still win. The results are unlikely to change, but it isn't official until all votes are counted.

You're right. I haven't, I'm not american and I'm not familiar with the way you handle it because I'm from England, a country small enough we just count the damn votes and get it over with.

To win they needed 270 from the electoral college. Obama has 338, McCain 159. Even if McCain got every single other vote that still is left, he would not win.
