Orion didn't have any projectiles, that's all. But maybe he was just a patzee

They had some wild imagination back in the days. I'm guessing shrooms may have been abundant.

i'm curious as to why some people are so negative (bordering on hostile) about the fact that others chose to consider something superficial like astrology.

i've never seen anyone trying to force their supernatural beliefs on anyone else here but there are more than a few people ready to brow beat those who entertain the idea into their own pragmatic view on the spiritual self.

congratulations on using logic and science to beat down spirituality. how creatively wonderful is it for so-called art connoisseurs (we're all here because we know/care more about music than the mainstream right?) to use science and math to belittle a generally inconsequential and entertaining subset of the occult.

let's all bust out our calculators and REALLY get this party started. WOOooooo

You're right, we should all agree with Astrology or just not comment in this thread. Forums are a place for someone to say something and have everyone agree with them.

mr dave 02-17-2009 05:48 PM

that's not what i'm saying and you know it.

if someone starts a thread about a band and people jump in with nothing better to say than 'that band sucks and your stupid for liking them' then they get labeled as a troll and told to either start posting something worth reading or to not post at all.

i was almost banned for having the 'gall' to claim that tom morello wasn't that great of a guitar player in the RATM thread (he's a hack). i had valid and factual arguments for my point of view yet i was called out as a 'troll' for being too negative in the thread.

why is this different?

If the people who are all into horoscopes didn't want this discussed then they should have stuck this in the lounge not here. I haven't seen a single logical reason for why distance celestial bodies determine human character. So forgive people if (having nothing to argue against since no one can answer that question) they sound condescending.

I guess I just think that its slightly less abstract to see a glimmer of possibility in the idea that our larger environment, which is readily observable with the naked eye, has an influence on us than to assume that we are in a robot induced dream being harvested for our energy. I'm not speculating, I'm trying to open this clearly closed door in your mind at least a crack because I don't think its so entirely far fetched. To reiterate... I'm not a follower of or believer in astrology in its current manifestation. I'm simply open to the idea of further investigation being done by people who know what they're talking about rather than a failed writer payed a measly wage to write crap horoscopes for people in newspapers.

Please feel free to tell me what is silly about my claims, I won't be offended. I'm quite enjoying the discussion.
