Ok well, you feel "we" aren't open to discussion, and "we" feel you aren't listening to the empirical evidence that shows corporal punishment isn't an effective way of achieving discipline. But since none of us (a total of 3) holding the latter view actually have children I think maybe the stance as a whole seems a little less convincing?
There's also the whole business of the greater influence to society that seems to be completely ignored by the other side and which is very important to the actual subject, which is a law outlawing corporal punishment and it's possible positive effect. Do you think society would run amuck if corporal punishment was outlawed everywhere? Because the evidence in Sweden seems to be pretty positive so far...*unsure*
