I think I understand what you are trying to get at. Are you still in school and have you decided to actually talk during one of these moments of silence? What would you even need to talk about during them?

I'm pretty sure you can leave the room if you don't believe in the cause that the moment of silence is for. You'll have to deal with the backlash of everyone thinking you are an insensitive prick though similar to the majority of the posts in here that go against your actions but I stand by your decision to be able to leave or tell a joke for a min if you feel you need to during a moment of silence. Have you been reprimanded for talking during one before?

I haven't tried it but I have the sudden urge to do it and find out the outcome which I'm pretty sure that it will get you nowhere with the people in your immediate surroundings. They will think you are an asshole and any future help you need you will never get. It's mostly about being dipolmatic.

We should have a moment of silence for the tragedy of this failed point-making joke.

;)

Or this thread. I know I'm going to get drunk some night and change it to "Highschool kids want to be punk"

It was ironic. Soccer is an English word and one we haven't used since the 1880's.

Your comment was ironic?
Seemed rather antagonizing to me. :D
Unless, of course, you really didn't know that Americans still call it soccer. If that's the case, then my bad.

I used the word 'football'. Bane used 'soccer' following an exchange (light hearted btw) of the correct usage of words and the transatlantic differences between the two nations.
He used what he thought was an Americanism. Which it wasn't.
I'm fully aware the Americans call it soccer. Were you aware it was an English word in origin?

Actually, no. I didn't know you guys used the word soccer. And did you use it for what you now call football?

Interesting!
Yea, I probably should have Googled it, but it had just never crossed my mind before with the football vs soccer argument always being forefront in Brit VS US terminology.

You're not a pain, either.
I learn things when you're around.
