They're only blowing up the moon to see if it's hollow inside and houses mythical giants and stuff.

It seems like someone at NASA has been watching too many James Bond movies.

Desperate times..call for desperate measures?? *shrugs*

No, it's quite obvious NASA has been listening to VoodooGlowSkulls - Shoot The Moon.

Instead of bombing the moon, why don't they send a manned mission to the moon to do experiments. Wouldn't it be cool if we could do that?

Long as you're the bomb, I don't see why not.

Attatch the bomb to you and send you to the moon, if you really believe in the cause and you really believe it's for the greater good, you won't object.

i think there are a lot of other people who should join him....

Btw, ur name is trippy and it makes me dislexic (even tho im not!) and i mix up the letters, and i think its supposed to be that way..but im not sure lol. oy.

We bomb the earth as well, at least it won't harm anything we know of up there except for of course geology and perhaps microbes hitching a ride.

So far there has been like 50 expiditions to the moon (both manned and un-manned, some orbited the moon & others landed on it) and all of a sudden you are worry about microbes on the moon?

There are a few ironies of bombing the moon. The scientists want to bomb the moon to see if there is water on it. But what are they going to do with that information, there is the problem of the Moon Treaty; all natural resourses are essentially protected to some degree by the treaty, so it is doubtful that the water if found would be used. So if the experiment is to satisfy their curiosity why not send an un-manned probe, why use a bomb?

If the moon treaty is a problem, then the moon treaty can probably be negotiated in the future. They are using the bomb I guess because it's cheap, simple and a technology which is well known and tested. You bomb, a spray of stuff comes up which you take pictures of and you can then tell from the pictures what that spray-cloud contains. It's a way simpler solution than sending a robot or something to drill down and then retrieve it somehow.
