Incorrect. Almost everyone I know is a woman.

Women my own age or women that are romantically approachable is what I have problems with. It's the same problem every guy has.

Fun fact, not even the ugliest women in Tennessee are single.

I know I talk about my life of alienation but believe it or not I actually do converse with other people, granted it's always within a social structure of which I have never been able to escape.

If it's 11% of women in the military, and (I quickly googled and the site looked sketchy but I'm going with the number anyway because it still proves a point) there's 250,000 women in the military then that means nearly 30,000 have been sexually assaulted. The amount of horror stories that are reported and the fact the military tries to hid a good deal of these statistics is frightening. I don't really think you can justify the treatment or treat it like it isn't a small problem anyway. This is just some of the stories on the first page when you search "sexual assault on women in the military."

I never said you were an idiot, you're putting words in my mouth. I said you didn't know much about the subject (and you've yet to say anything to prove contrary.) It seems to me that you're engaging in a hyperbolic/emotive arguing method to make up for your own ignorance. Which is silly.

I think your lack of social activity is a fair and relevant point seeing as your view of the female gender is very slanted and it seems like you have a minimal, if any interaction with them (or really people in general. Your view of males also seems weirdly slanted, but in a positive way as opposed to a negative way.) Again, your arguments aren't based on any sort of education but rather entirely personal experience...and when you don't have much of that you don't have much of an argument (and I don't think you do. All this is reading as is emotive hyperbole with unbased generalizations thrown in for good measure.)

Very mature, if you're going to make a thread with claims that some may find inaccurate/offensive you could at least back them up instead of avoiding all relevant points and trying to turn this into a "ethan's so mean to me" festival.

Why not respond to my post? I'll edit out the last paragraph and first sentence for you:

Your argument, in regards to the work place, that woman just need to "prove they're better" in order to get treated equally as men (which they aren't - they're not being given equal opportunity and statistically make less then men do for the same jobs) is you showing you're a, eegads, sexist ***! As far as woman being so lucky in the military, considering their inclusion has led to sexual assaults of all kinds and they're generally treated terribly in the military I think them wanting to get out is perfectly understandable considering they generally aren’t treated like human beings there, but rather a piece of ass.

Woman are an oppressed group; the argument that they aren’t silly. Read the Old Testament, or the Qu'ran and then look at people like yourself who insist on high standards that don't apply to the male gender. It’s something that’s become ingrained in our culture, look how the advertising portrays them as submissive and unrealistically beautiful (which psychologically has shown to lead woman being treated like doormats in society, hello domestic abuse.)

Yes I agree that sexual assault is a huge problem. But, I was merely trying to point out that it is more of an issue in the civilian world than it is in the military. For US women anyway.

I'm going to drop a few lines from the book 'Coed Combat' by Kingsley Browne.

"During the deployment in Bosnia from Dec 1995 to Dec 1996, 118 women we're sent back (out of combat) to either US bases in Germany or to the US because of pregnancy."

That equates to one woman every 3 days being pulled from a unit.

"During the Gulf War, the USS Acadia sent home 36 female sailors due to pregnancy. 22 of which became pregnant when the ship was out to sea."

"The USS Eisenhower (the first integrated US Navy Ship) sent 38 female sailors back to shore duty due to pregnancy in a period of 6 months. All of which got pregnant while underway."

Now, let me reiterate this to you. These women ARE NOT being discharged, they are being sent home to shore duty, with FULL PAY and BENEFITS.

p.s. You don't get an Honorable Discharge for shooting yourself in the foot. They would deem you mentally incompetant and give you a general/medical discharge, which strips you of all benefits and awards.
