I have already made one post for people to consider on the swine flu. I am putting these things out there because I am tired of the lies and facade created by the media to blind the public. Why aren't we hearing this? Why aren't they giving us the full story? What is it that they don't want us to know? Remember what I post is for you to consider, not to take as gospel but, it is something to keep in mind.

sleepy jack 09-13-2009 08:30 PM

I've yet to see a single intellectual point made in all the 9/11 conspiracy theories I've seen. I somehow doubt your two hour documentary is going to change that seeing as it's become part of an industry which fanaticism rivals that of the most fundamentalist religious nut. Why should anyone even give the 9/11 truth movement any of their time?

LoathsomePete 09-13-2009 08:43 PM

OK Original Poster I don't care if you want to post videos but start doing them in a single post for fuck sakes, I thought you would've gotten the message when I merged the first batch.

I don't know whats worse someone forwarding conspiracy theories about 9/11 or someone considering fundamentalist as nuts. And there is no differentiating the religious affiliation so it sounds like someone is inditing all religious people as nuts.

Well if you know who these people are that are nuts why don't you be more specific instead of lumping all religious people together?

sleepy jack 09-13-2009 09:13 PM

Um I specified I was talking about fundamentalists (e.g. Hagee, Westboro, etc.) Who I do think are totally insane. I'm sorry if that's offensive but I think their religious fanaticism is just as freaky as the fanaticism of 9/11 "truthers."

Here's the truth about 9/11. You're f*cking retarded.

YouTube - The Chaser's War on Everything: Do you Believe the Bible is True?

Because fundies are nuts. That's the important part of being a fundie: you live by everything written in the book before you've engaged the thinking part of your brain. Go back to stoning your foul mouthed children.

Guybrush 09-14-2009 08:56 AM

Strangely, I don't feel like watching lots of youtube documentaries to find out what this thread is about. If the conclusion here is that it was not an Al -Quaeda act of terrorism, could someone (The Boy perhaps) summarize quickly what the truth behind 9/11 is?

The truth is people will always come up with crazy ass conspiracy theories about even the most well documented events.

cavanherk 09-14-2009 09:00 AM

I don't get too fanatical either way, and The Boy may be a bit extreme in thought, but it's always a pretty good idea to keep an open mind about things, to a degree.

At least read real news instead of the filtered pop news we get fed via tv and radio.

Give a site like INFORMATION CLEARING HOUSE. NEWS, COMMENTARY & INSIGHT a try. A pragmatic approach to news--not too hot, not too cold, juuuust right.

The video was crass as in "having or indicating such grossness of mind as precludes delicacy and discrimination." [def. - Merriam-Webster]

Better!

Barnard17 09-14-2009 10:00 AM

The fact that your only response to it is that it was "crass" (to be vulgar is not an intrinsically bad thing) ...

The video demonstrated that there are some really stupid things in the Bible. If we all stoned our children for swearing at us, overpopulation would definitely not be an issue. You complained that Ethan called religious fundamentalists (lets go to the dictionary again, my preference is Chambers - fundamentalism noun in religion, politics, etc: strict adherence to the traditional teachings of a particular religion or political doctrine.) nuts. But the fact of the matter is any religious fundamentalist of any of the Abrahamic religions are nuts. If they're not, they're not really fundies.

Well I had to stop watching that video, because it was offensive. It may not be offensive to you, maybe you really don't care.

Al-Qaida is seen by some people as being "fundamenalist." And that is my problem with the word "fundamenalist" being used in this thread about 9/11.

That is the problem with the word "fundamentalism" because it has become to be a pejorative to anyone who "adheres" or follows a religion regardless if it is peaceful or not. So if one is spiritual in any way one is being lumped together with Christian fundamanlists and Al-Qaida.

If you are an atheist fine. But don't lump everyone together who practices a religion as nuts. Because every other religion out there is not the same.

No. Fundamentalists are being lumped together. Read what's being said rather than throwing your toys out the pram at the drop of a hat. Seriously it's not that hard.

Because your speakers are turned off or not working? Works fine for me, I just don't get what relevance it has to ... well ... anything.

Perambulator.

Janszoon 09-14-2009 11:13 AM

Quick synopsis of this thread before it continues it's rapid decent toward being locked:
  • Religious people are nuts.
  • Pram is an amazing band that really need to get off their asses and release a new album. It's been two years people, chop-chop.

Not sure if I follow you. People are still proposing conspiracy theories for things like the moon landing and the assassination of JFK which happened 40 and 46 years ago respectively. Eight years isn't a long time at all when it comes to this kind of thing. It's quite recent memory in fact.

In other words anything that ever happens in the U.S.
Funny how it's never like that in other places.

I was in London in 1993 when the IRA bombed Whitehall. Maybe I should start a conspiracy theory about that saying that I was involved or something.

Have you not seen the YouTube videos? It wasn't the IRA at all, it was a militant faction of the Illuminati.

Fixed.

Why do you say it as if we only went to the moon once? There was more then one moon landing, there where 6 American manned missions to the moon. All in all there was 50 expenditions (manned and unmanned) to the moon by the early 90's. Maybe a possible lunar bombing in the near future. A lunar base is only a pipe dream for now.

He didn't say it "as if we only went to the moon once." He said moon landing, singular, because he was specifically referring to the first moon landing as it's the subject of a conspiracy theory and relevant to the discussion; unlike your post which is just useless.

I used the singular because I was referring to the first moon landing, the one the conspiracy theories all talk about.

In your original post you didn't say what kind of Fundamentalist they were. "Fundamentalist" can mean anything, Al-Qaida are fundamentalist Sunni. So I took umbrage at that, it is a thread about 9/11 and your lumping fundamentalist (which I thouhgt you meant Al-Qaida) and Truthers together. imo that's offensive since America was underattack by Sunni Fundamentalist Al-Qaida on September 11th, '01. You use a broad term, "Fundamentalist," but expect every one to specificly understand you meant. Only later, in that other post I quoted did you mention Hagee and Wesboro.

I don't understand what the "Truther" being "nuts" have to do with Christian Fundamentalist, to me your statement is just another derogatory jab at Christianity , making it out to be "nutty" and that is so annoying, Christianity is partly why America was attacked on 9/11. I'm not saying it's the only reason, no doubt Al-Qaida a laundry list why they attacked us.

I didn't care about this topic in the first place.

sleepy jack 09-15-2009 10:47 AM

You're offended by something that's just ignorance on your part. I wouldn't describe al-Qaeda as religious fundamentalists, Bin Laden and by extension this whole Jihadists movement have to make some pretty liberal interpretations of the Qu'ran to justify their actions and those interpretations would shock any rational imam. Religious extremists would be a more apt term.
