Im Jewish. Im not super religious but I do study the religion and its origin. I like to study other religions as well. My friends never seem to run out of Jew jokes. Judaism isnt really that much different. Just different traditions really. Im open to all other religions and beliefs. Its really funny though when people dont believe Im jewish because I dont look like the stereotypical Jew. They say "you have blond hair, blue eyes and a little nose! you cant be a jew." Thats when I write or say a phrase in hebrew. Then they believe me.

Yay, another Jewish person! I'm not terribly religious either (neither is the rest of my family), but we do all the traditional stuff and holidays etc. I don't look Jewish either :)

Are you proficient in Hebrew? I don't know a lot - I sort of gave up on it :o:

I read recently in a study that among people polled, atheists and agnostics were the most knowledgeable about a variety of religions generally.

I went to a Roman Catholic school and I made my communion and confirmation which were nice little earners but when I was 13 I decided I didn't believe in anything. My Dad hates the church so there wasn't ever much chance of me going to mass or anything. Although I consider myself atheist I love learning about other religions and find them very interesting.

This actually doesn't suprise me very much. Something I've noticed, also, is that most of the atheistic/agnostic people I know grew up in very staunch, strict Catholic homes.

I'm not religious. Sure, I believe that there's some sort of "higher power" up there, or whatever you want to call it, but I'm not going to dedicate my life to pleasing it. I'd rather live my life for myself, and go by my own definitions of what is right and wrong. This doesn't mean I don't have morals.

Not to mention, the rampant homophobia associated with most religions... no, thank you. :|

Are there any scientologists here?

How can it even be considered a religion? It's based on a book some dude wrote in the 80's. :whythis:
