Default Your Religious Beliefs

Just curious what the numbers are like here.

1. Atheist - Atheism, in a broad sense, is the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.
2. Theist - Theism in the broadest sense is the belief that at least one deity exists.
3. Agnostic - Agnosticism is the view that the truth value of certain claims—especially claims about the existence or non-existence of any deity, but also other religious and metaphysical claims—is unknown or unknowable.
4. Ignostic - Ignosticism is the view that a coherent definition of a deity must be put forward before the question of the existence of a deity can be meaningfully discussed. In other words, humans can't comprehend a deity, therefore we can't discuss whether or not that deity exists.

Just for clarity:
While I am aware that a/theism and agnosticism are not mutually exclusive, for the purposes of this poll, you are only atheist if you assert that there is no god. Likewise, you are only theist if you assert that there is a god(s). If you believe that there is/n't a god but claim that your belief can't be proven, you are agnostic in one form or another.

I'm Agnostic. More specifically, strongly agnostic. "I can't know there is or isn't a god, and neither can you."

Religious reliefs might be difficult to confine to a poll. It is a good idea, but I know my beliefs aren't within certain specs. If you want to do a poll, try a Wheres Waldo vs I Spy...Ive been dying to know the results of that one for years.

I don't see this turning out much different from god/no god threads.

Anti-theist, religion is a bad idea - in some ways. The conflicts it causes etc. but I mean, whatever helps you through life, if it's religion so be it. But overall I just think it's a bad idea, but I'm atheist. Though I'd like the idea of a God and heaven after you leave this earth, but I just think it's a romantic idea. Once you die you're at rest for eternity in a happy place..

Being a theist does not necessarily mean you are part of a religion.

I'm agnostic myself. I believe that, if a god does exist, it would surpass our intelligence infinately meaning we could not possibly understand it. Also, if that god does not want to be discovered,it would be completely within its power to remain hidden for eternity, rendering our search useless. If it wanted to be seen it would have left ample proof or reveal itself to humanity. Either way, there's nothing we can do about it.

Hey! I saw this post before it got edited. I'd be fine with changing the poll, sure.

Something like
"Christianity"
"Islam"
"Judaism"
"Hinduism"
"Other theistic religion"
"Atheism"
"Agnosticism"

?
