Catholic ideals are a type of Christian ideals. The way the two of you are phrasing this doesn't make a lot of sense. It's like saying "I grew up studying kung fu but I prefer martial arts".
Except that isn't what we're saying.

Aww sugar, thanks I'm glad I'm not the only one in a mid-religion crisis.
I'm glad you're actually getting what I'm saying. xD

Anyone else have the compunction to pronounce "religious" as "religulous"?

It's really easy, just ask yourself:
"Do I believe that this guy Jesus can be referred to as 'Christ'?"

> if YES > CHRISTian !!!!

> if NO > Other.

There are some significant differences between Catholicism and Protestantism, such as whether or not Mary is a saint/holy, interpretations of Biblical morality, and the role of clergy.
This ^.

Do you think that this whole thing is rather silly? I mean yes I believe and God and that Jesus came to save our sins etc, but to which part of Christainty I feel I belong is uncertain due to the variability between them. I'm not talking rubbish here when another perfectly respectable person knows what I mean. To be honest I think this should be dropped because if you don't understand what we mean I don't know how else to explain it. You have to be brought up in similar situations to know why we feel the way we do.
