That can be re-written to be "the beauty of a symphony is not the notes that are put into it, but the way those notes are arranged." Because think about it. In Western Music, there's only 12 notes possible (not counting any notes twice). That's not alot of notes to work with. But how many pieces of music have ever been written in the history of man? WAYYYY too many to count. We'd be here until Armedgadon. Several composers have used the key of C. But you'd agree that Bach's Piano Concerto is completly different from baa baa black sheep(C Version), right? Does it make more sense now?

Scientists trying to be philosopher rarely works well, and this is no exception.

That could also be re-writen as "the beauty of a symphony isn't the pitch of the keynote or what scale it's in (which are the notes that are put into it), but in the way the notes are arranged into a melody."

I think he means the atoms that appear in a living things are the same in nature, but it's how they arranged that makes up a living thing. If you put the same elements that make up a person water, iron, oxygen, amino acids etc etc into a vat mix it up and let it sit overnight, you won't come up with a person the next day, why? Because it's the way the atoms are arranged that makes up a living thing.

The fact that we exist at all is completely mind blowing. We are studying molecular genetics in my AP biology class right now, and the amount of sheer LUCK (or you know, divine influence) involved is just unbelievable. Honestly, i can't wrap my mind around it...but the fact that i can think about thought...well.

Yeah, it's like ridiculously complex. I wish i was studying it to get an idea just how complex it is. Sounds like fun though.

studying=reading. You watch enough questionable videos on youtube that you obviously have the time.. y not actually try doing some research for yourself? I don't mean this in a rude way. Obviously you google molecular genetics and you're going to get very complicated very fast...but im sure there are some more basic resources that will ease you into the concept if you know where to look. Who knows, you could actually go to the library and read an actual book!

and i know i sound sarcastic, but im being serious. no offense intended at all.

Default We are all connected - quantum interaction

Quantum mechanically, once two particles (wavefunctions) interact, they continue to interact forever. So, if everything began out of a big bang, yes we are all connected at the wavefunction level, well atleast untill a superior theory comes up, we can certainly feel connected.

I didn't watch the video, so I'm wondering if it will specify what part of us is connected to everyone else? Is it like a multi dimensional Human Centipede scenario?

Not sure I'm in the mood for deep thoughts about existence this morning but perhaps someone is.

In the often-annoying way of YouTube, after the OP's recommended clip finished, another one started up uninvited. I had no idea that such a strange way of making a song was actually a genre now :-

@ MicShazam: it's about atoms and stuff, about how "we are stardust", to quote that well-known astro-physicist Joni Michell
