UK General Election
 

Looks like we have the first genuinely interesting UK Election in about 13 years on our hands. What're MB members' thoughts on this upcoming election?
There's a lot of fascinating/nightmarish scenarios which could emerge from this, such as whether or not the BNP will maintain the momentum they have, the DUP are in the position of kingmakers, the Tories win in a landslide to name just 3 of the nightmarish ones, and whether a Labour/Lib Dem coalition which could revolutionise British politics by bringing about Proportional Representation could save people from living under Tory rule.

Really don't care, they're all as corrupt as the guy opposing them. Chip away at all the bull**** and you'll find they're all the same.

I'll be backing the lib dems, they seem to have the most sense at the moment. Best we can hope for with them is a hung parliament and a labour coalition though.

Socialist Labour or UKIP for me although It's scary how many people I know who are backing the BNP these days, people will allow themselves to put faith in some ridiculous things in times of desperation.

I was recording in the middle of nowhere the other day and I went down the local pub and the local conservative party gave me a free buffet for saying i'd vote for them. I felt dirty....not because I lied just 'cause I said it but it was worth it...Robert Johnson sold his soul to play guitar I sold mine for some Ham sandwiches and Plate of Garlic Bread. =D

Oh **** sorry EDIT I thought this was who we were gonna back not our predictions, Oh then Labour will probably win again, As much as Gordon Brown isn't exactly the best poster boy lets face it the Lib Dems haven't got a should and anyone who still remembers the reign of Thatcher, which is the majority of the voting public is going to do anything to avoid voting conservative, I think generally it's always going to be between conservative and Labour and that woman has damaged the Conservatives reputation irreparably. My father saw the brunt of Thatchers reign and he's a Union rep so if I voted conservative he'd still probably take off his belt and try to batter me to death with it bless him.

Wouldn't be opposed to Labour/Lib Dem coalition, but I'm for Labour outright. I have a horrible feel the Torys might nick it. Which would be a disaster.

Did anybody watch the election? Nick Clegg was really impressive, he just let Brown and Cameron get personal and attack each other then he answered the questions he was asked. Good performance.

You mean the debate, and yeah, that's why I'm a lib dem supporter, they mostly keep out of all the 'negative politics' the other parties seem to use, and they do less of the question dodging. That and I like their policies and such, of course.

I think the debates are going to be a good thing for them, it gives them equal coverage, which they don't seem to get with newspapers and on the TV, so people never seem aware of what they do.

I've always been labour but I can't deny how well Nick Clegg did. It was so obvious when watching who was bossing it. He just let Gordon and Cameron moan at each other and he just allowed them to have their little digs at each other whilst he just stood and answered the questions directly and honestly. I have a feeling the tories are gonna nick it though, which would be the last thing I'd want..

Gordon talked about numbers falling.
Cameron said we need change! And he has exciting plans but he wouldn't say what they were exactly
And Clegg answered almost every question well, except for a couple.

I think Cameron came over worst, he always seems really fake to me, full of promises he won't be able to act on.
