For a Brit, how old are you in grade 2? In year two you're like 6, dunno if it's the same in yankyland

In Canada and the US, you're about 7 in grade 2.

Hmm. I had the birds and the bees chat when I was about 10. Explaining where babies came from, but it was no big deal. You kind of pick it up in the media. Then due to "film" I learnt the ins and outs at about age 13.. I had no problem learning that way. I wonder if other people found it difficult learning on their own and would've preferred lessons from an early age easing them into it. I think if they tried teaching stuff like that to my class in school it would've been a giggle fest.

We never had sex ed in high school which I always found strange, my sister's year had to put condoms on cucumbers..

When I was in high school, there was a mandatory sex ed unit for our PE class. My teacher actually used a dildo to demonstrate how to use a condom. It was probably hers too...

Our female P.E teacher was a lesbian, so if she pulled out some kind of dildo it would have definitely been hers.

How can schools allow a teacher to pull out a dildo? Was it uncomfortable? Or did everyone just laugh?

P.s why is the word dildo filtered?

I think the girls (because PE is gender segregated here) just thought "oh my god", based on the look on everyone's face. Don't know about future classes though!

I do know that one of the male PE teachers pulled out a fake vagina in front of his class. I wasn't surprised when I heard that though - he was a tall, scrawny, geeky kind of guy.

Both of those classes were in grade 9 - so full of 14 year olds! I highly doubt that my high school principal knew anything about this. He was really dumb.

An old friend from my school who was 2 years younger than me, she's in her final year and our Geography teacher who was a tall, scrawny, geeky kind of guy was fired and arrested for paedophilia. we always used to do what kids do call him a paedo etc.

Couldn't believe it when she recently told me he was fired for 'touching kids.'

As for your school, Jesus Christ. Fake dildos and Vajayjays? Why did he need a fake Vagina anyway? sex ed = how to apply a condom safely as well as the science behind babies and what not.. how do you need a vagina for that? Especially a male.. Shocking really the type of people that get into education.

Especially the type of people who end up teaching PE. I've had some pretty weird ones. Thank goodness I didn't have to take that class after my grade 9 year. Which is also why I don't think it's such a bad idea to have basic sex ed taught by a regular classroom teacher. Most of them are not as crazy as the PE teachers. Except for that Geo teacher from your school
