But who cares? If someone wants to dance on a float in the Gay Pride Parade dressed like a leather bondage cowboy, how does that affect me? Just because it's easy to point out flamboyant gay guys and say, "They're just looking for attention", so ****ing what? Who cares if they want attention? It's not any kind of problem. It doesn't cause anything that needs to be fixed. It doesn't hurt anyone.

If it annoys you, and someone shoving their personal **** in your face can be annoying, it still isn't a problem that needs to be mentioned along with the problem of homophobes. It's just the same problem that straight people have when they dress like goths; punks; silk shirt, hair gel wearing douchebags; or any one of a million dress codes or little "cliques" that just want to affirm their individuality by shoving it in your face. Whether they're gay or straight EVERYONE wants to people to take notice of them.

I meant it more in the way that some gay people will try and annoy those who they know full well do not like homosexuality. I know some gay people who will constantly try and annoy Conservative Christians and things like that. To me that is a problem too. It isn't helping the situation at all by doing that.

Maybe it is not in the same category as people who are homophobic, but to me when I see gay people just trying to annoy others, it's a problem.

Perhaps it's not helping that much. But I'd rather be seen as a jerk than bow down to some fundie dickhole. I mean, should black people just be nice to the Klan? If the Evangelists aren't fought, they will try to push through their bull**** anti-gay, anti-evolution, anti-anything-they-don't-like agenda regardless of how nice you are to them. If that means being a little disrespectful, I think that's a small price to pay.

It's not about being nice to those against you. If some christian is being a twat about homosexuality in public, for example, then yes I agree gay people have the right to stand up for themselves. When, however, there is no issue and gay people just start causing problems for the sake of it, it's a different matter.

Like with my friends - they don't do it to stand up against someone talking rubbish and being homophobic. They do it just to make a point, when there is nothing going on against them at all. Like sitting on the steps of a church kissing, just to see if it will annoy someone who goes in. The church has never done anything against gay people.

It's these acts I have the problem with, not standing up for your rights.

In my opinion, these things just come with the territory. If some gays are going to stand up for their rights and fight the good fight like sensible, intelligent human beings, then some people are just going to be immature because now they feel like they can. The only way to stop it is to go back to homosexuality being seen as a mental disease. When being gay just becomes normal, everyday, and boring by everybody in society (instead of something new and scary) then these things will most likely stop on their own just because no one will care.

Can someone explain to me why a lot of gay guys walk with their chests out? I never see straight guys walk like this, but I see tons of gay guys walk a certain way. Is it a way to give a signal to other gay guys that he's also gay?? Same with the lisp...What's up with that? Can someone explain why these things happen?

My beef is with flamboyant gays. Not because they are gay, because they are annoying. If a straight guy was being that flamboyant, I'd hate it just the same.

I can. Straight bro's all the time walk with there collar popped and like they weigh 300 pounds in all muscle. Theres no way they really need to waddle and have there chest out past there feet when walking to another trendy bar.

You have to understand that if a gay man does not act "flamboyant", it makes it extremely difficult to identify him as gay. Whereas for heterosexual people, you can just assume that everyone of the opposite sex is also heterosexual, so "finding a mate" (so to speak) is extremely easy. Imagine if all gay men acted completely straight... they would never know who to hit on, who to ask out, who to act interested in, etc, and that cuts down the ~2% (given that ~4% of the population is homosexual) potential pool of suitors to an even smaller number, effectively limiting their realm of dating to gay bars/clubs where it's safe to assume that most people are gay.

IDK if that makes sense, it's kind of hard to explain.
