It's not about being nice to those against you. If some christian is being a twat about homosexuality in public, for example, then yes I agree gay people have the right to stand up for themselves. When, however, there is no issue and gay people just start causing problems for the sake of it, it's a different matter.
Like with my friends - they don't do it to stand up against someone talking rubbish and being homophobic. They do it just to make a point, when there is nothing going on against them at all. Like sitting on the steps of a church kissing, just to see if it will annoy someone who goes in. The church has never done anything against gay people.
It's these acts I have the problem with, not standing up for your rights.
